Mr. Osamu (Sam) Muramoto has been the Chairman of Engine Lease Finance since June 2016. He is the Executive Officer and General Manager of the Aviation Business Department of Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance Company Limited (MUL), who also oversee Jackson Square Aviation (JSA).
Mr. Muramoto started his career in the finance business with The Mitsubishi Bank, Ltd. in 1985 and has held management roles in various global business sectors, including: Investment Banking, M&A, Strategic Planning and Leasing. He moved to MUL in 2012 having spent the previous year as Global Head of Syndicated Finance in The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd where he coordinated syndication businesses globally. He joined MUL during the JSA acquisition, and subsequently managed the post-merger integration.
His experience in the Aircraft Finance and Leasing business began in 1998 with his involvement in EETC transactions as the Head of the Securitization Group of Tokyo Mitsubishi International plc in London, and his relationship with Engine Lease Finance dates back to 2004 when he was Senior Vice President, and then Senior Executive Vice President of BTMU Capital Corporation in Boston.
Mr. Muramoto holds an MBA from the London Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from Meiji University.
Mr. Sharp is Group President and Chief Executive Officer of Engine Lease Finance.
Mr. Sharp holds an Honours Degree in Business Studies and a Diploma with Distinction in International Law from London City University. Mr. Sharp spent 20 years with Rolls-Royce plc. before he founded ELF in 1989.
In 2004, Mr. Sharp was presented by the Institute of Transport Management its ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ to “Honour his outstanding contribution to the air transport industry”. In 2010 he was invited to become a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and in 2014; Airline Economics magazine presented him with their lifetime achievement award, naming him as ‘The Face of Aviation’.
Mr. Barrett is the Chief Operating Officer at Engine Lease Finance. He is a 1985 business graduate of the University College Dublin and qualified with KPMG as a Chartered Accountant in 1988. Shortly after Engine Lease Finance was launched in 1990, Mr. Barrett was employed in the role of financial accountant.
In the period since 1990 he has been involved in every transaction that the Company has conducted, notably the 1996 acquisition by BTMUCC, the 1998 creation of the Aviation Lease Finance joint venture with Volvo Aero, 2011 acquisition of the Macquarie engine portfolio. Since 2002 he has managed the Company’s syndication platform that has led to the successful creation of five partly owned or managed collaborations with Sumitomo Corporation, DVB Bank, MUL, GSI KG Funds and Mitsubishi Corporation. In addition to this he manages the Shannon Headquarters and has responsibility for Finance, Managed Entities, Portfolio/Credit and Human Resources areas.
Mr. O’Brien is the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President of Sales. He joined the Company in September 2006 after sixteen years with the Parent Company, BTMU Capital Corporation including serving as a Board Member of ELF from 2000.
Joseph is a 1981 graduate of the Boston University School of Management. He has spent his entire career in the leasing industry pricing and remarketing assets of all types until 1990 when he began to focus on aviation and was promoted to assume responsibility for all aviation related residual pricing, portfolio management and remarketing activities. In 1996 he was promoted to Senior Vice President in charge of aviation pricing and sale activities for BTMU Capital which was expanded further in 1999 to include responsibility for all origination activity.
Mr. Hough is the head of technical for Engine Lease Finance, a position he has held since January 2011. As a member of the Executive Team reporting to the CEO, he has overall responsibility for the technical and IT functions of ELF.
Mr. Hough started his career in aviation in 1990 as an apprentice aircraft maintenance technician with Shannon Aerospace and after qualification was appointed team leader of the engines team. Over the following five years he obtained various maintenance engineer licenses and approvals for both airframe and engine.
In April 1997 he joined ELF as Technical Services Manager. His early role involved a mixture of technical, sales and marketing research functions. In 2000 he was promoted to the position of Vice President Technical with responsibility for asset management, engine valuations and technical aspects of contract negotiation. In 2009 Mr. Hough was promoted to the position of Senior Vice President Technical, with responsibility for day to day operations of the technical department including management of a portfolio of 200+ engines.
In addition to his aeronautical engineering licenses, Mr. Hough has a Diploma in Business Studies (Hons) from the National University of Ireland and an MBA in Aviation Management from the University of Limerick.
Mr Wormald is Executive Vice President and Head of Legal at Engine Lease Finance.
Mr. Wormald is an English law qualified barrister who previously worked as in-house Legal Counsel at UBS AG and Lehman Brothers Europe. Now based in London he has 15 years of experience in delivering legal advice, risk management and transaction support/execution in the spare engine leasing/finance sector.
Mr. Wormald has worked on a number of industry leading transactions including the acquisition of Macquarie Engine Leasing (2011) and a KG engine portfolio transaction (2007) that were each given the Airfinance Journal`s Engine Deal of the Year Award.
